Tempest Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 5th, 2025
Welcome to Tempest. We're so glad you're here.
We created Tempest as a modern, stigma-free space for people navigating mental health, substance use, burnout, grief, and life transitions. Our platform offers support groups, expert guidance, and community-based care that honors your whole self — no shame, no labels, no judgment.
By using Tempest, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully, because they set the tone for the safe, respectful, and affirming space we all deserve.
1. Who We're For
Tempest is open to anyone 18 or older looking for peer-based support and guided wellness. Whether you're here for sobriety, moderation, anxiety, healing from burnout, or just want a space to feel seen — you belong.
Note: We are not a crisis service, clinical care provider, or detox program.
2. What We Offer
Tempest provides access to:
- Live and on-demand support groups
- A supportive, moderated community
- 24/7 discussion forums for each support group
You are never required to identify with a diagnosis or label to participate.
Our peer support services do not constitute clinical or licensed therapy or other health care services. Our moderators help monitor and facilitate conversation. No patient provider relationship is established between the moderator and individuals as result of individuals' participation in the peer support services. If you need counseling or therapy services please contact a licensed provider. If this is a medical emergency, call 911.
3. Community Standards
This is a brave space. Every member helps shape it.
By participating, you agree to:
- Respect the confidentiality and dignity of others
- Use inclusive, nonjudgmental language
- Avoid harassment, hate speech, or disruptive behavior
- Refrain from promoting external products, services, or ideologies
We reserve the right to suspend or remove anyone whose actions compromise the integrity or safety of the community.
If you experience or witness behavior that violates these Terms or our Community Standards, you can report it confidentially to our team at [email protected]. We investigate all reports and may take actions including warnings, suspensions, or account termination.
4. Your Privacy
You control your story. We do not record group sessions or share your participation without your consent. At sign-up, you will pick a nickname and forever appear in the community under this name, confidentially.
Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, protect, and use your data. Confidentiality is foundational here — and we take that seriously.
5. Membership, Payments & Cancellations
Tempest requires a paid membership. When you sign up, you agree to be charged according to your selected plan.
You can cancel anytime through your account. Access continues through the remainder of your billing cycle.
6. Not Medical Advice
We do not provide medical or psychiatric treatment. The support we offer is peer-based, educational, and built around lived experience. You should always consult your own licensed providers for medical or clinical care.
7. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact our support team immediately.
8. Content and Ownership
Everything you see on Tempest — from program materials to artwork — belongs to us or our content partners. You're welcome to use it for your personal growth, but not to reproduce, modify, or distribute without written permission.
9. Ending Your Membership
You can leave Tempest at any time. We may also suspend or end access if we believe you've violated these Terms or harmed the community.
We want you to grow here, but your presence must be safe and aligned with our values.
10. User-Generated Content
Any content you share within Tempest (including group chat, messages, posts, or feedback) is your own. However, by participating, you grant Tempest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and moderate that content solely within the platform for community and operational purposes.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates our Terms, Community Standards, or is otherwise harmful to members.
11. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Tempest isn't liable for:
- The outcomes of your personal decisions
- Conduct of other members
- Any platform downtime or interruptions
We're here to support you — not to replace your clinical or emergency care.
12. Updates
We may update these Terms from time to time. You'll always be notified of changes before they take effect. Continued use of Tempest means you accept the new version.
13. Contact
We're here to help. You can reach us anytime at [email protected] or via the in-platform support chat.
